THE MADHATTER – Spring Racing Fever!

It just wouldn’t be the races without fancy headwear….and a glass of champagne of course! The team at id couture will have you looking races ready for this years Spring Carnival.

First stop The Hat Box located on the gallery level of the beautiful heritage-listed Brisbane Arcade. High fashion, head turning one-off pieces are gathered from a select group of the finest milliners from around Australia. Custom made or off the hook, The Hat Box can make your hat dream a reality, and for the boys a recent addition to the men's range of fedoras and felts are genuine panamas from Equador!

This is my personal favourite. The bold colour will definitely have you noticed in the crowd!

The Hat Box have provided hats for Bora, Grbac, Pia du Pradal, Tengdahl, et al and were even included in a stand alone parade in the 2008 Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival in Brisbane.

Helping to make the show look so good were the gorgeous cocktail frocks supplied by The Mask at the Broadway on the Mall in Queen Street Brisbane. The Mask prides itself on three basic principles, quality, service and honesty. The Mask stocks some of Australia and New Zealand's top fashion labels, specialising in formal wear, semi-formal wear, after 5 and race wear as well as up-market daywear to suit modern women of all ages.

For sublime luxury accessories from the world’s leading fashion houses look no further than Jean Brown. With labels including Lanvin, Manolo Blahnik and Sergio Rossi just to name a few, you will very quickly develop an addiction to their indulgent pieces. Here you will find the perfect accessories for your spring racing wardrobe.

Your perfect Spring Carnival outfit just wouldn’t be complete without a polished man on your arm so boys here are some tips for you to make the ladies proud!

Make sure your clothes fit perfectly. Your pant hem should hang straight down to the point where it starts to cover the heel of your shoe. If bold colours aren’t your thing, stick to the classics black, white, navy and grey. Accessorize with a great pair of shoes, a belt and cufflinks and don’t be afraid to wear a hat!

Justin always looks great!
