Lara Cresser - Fashion Illustrator

ID Couture stumbled across Lara Cresser's fashion illustrations and loved their rawness and naivety.

Lara has been invloved with sketching from an early age, ever since her grandfather instilled a deep love for the art.

Her grandfather tutored the young Lara from his first babysitting duties, teaching the impressionable youth the propper way to draw the real-life figure.

About to complete a bachelor of law/media communications, Lara says that indulging in sketching is a pure love,

"I've never considered it a job. I happily spend hours doing work for whoever is interested in having it. It's carthartic!"

Debuting her illustrations in the cancer council magazine when she was just 16, ID Couture thinks this girl is going to go a long way in fashion illustration.

With the trend of major celebs flaking out into rehab, TCB is assuring us that 'addiction' isn't a dirty word. From the tailored styling of Subfusco and savvy treads produced by Veinwear to the dark exoticism of Gail Sorronda and couture of Daniel Alexander, TCB is positioned to quench even the most excessive and discerning of addictions.

The Vanity Room and Make-up by Franky and Sue will have pamper stalls on the evening making sure all the guests are lushly looked after. Backstage hair will be by Willow Hair of New Farm and model's make-up will be executed by Gorgeous Cosmetics.

Fevi Reyes revives Cloisonette

Accessory designer Fevi Reyes presented her new collection Imperial Bling during an exhibit at the beauty salon The Apartment in Miramar, Puerto Rico. The week before Mother's Day Reyes celebrated with her clients, friends and the Fernado Rodriquez, owner of the salon, the launching of this collection which integrates elements from ancient China, via the art of cloisonete, with modern styling create a line that is both elegant and functional.

Cloisonne beads are created by skilled artisans with each cloisonne bead taking up to four hours to produce. Dozens of tiny cells are soldered to the bead's surface, then filled with four layers of enamel, and fired after each filling. Then each bead is polished, revealing intricate and beautiful designs. Since each bead is handmade, colors and styles may vary. ID Couture notes that the art of cloisonete began over 700 years ago and was popularized during the Ming Dynasty.

"My objective with this collection was to take this ancient art and make it contemporary" commented Reyes. Although almost the entire collection integrates cloisonete some pieces use lemon quartz and turquoise.The pieces are given a 14 carat gold bath, and they are designed to be used in all seasons.

Chelsea Rebelle - Destination LA

Chelsea Rebelle designer Sarah Brannon got her start selling her creations in markets from a market stall in her native New Zealand before relocating to San Fran and then LA - where her label was officially born. The name Chelsea Rebelle refers to the main character from the song "New Wave Girl" by These Animal Men, while Brannon opted for the french spelling of Rebel because she thought the English variation sounded "too harsh and not girly enough".

ID Couture received the Chelsea Rebelle lookbook, lathered in 1940's war time postage stamps atop deliberately crudely taken photographs, adding to the nostalgic feel. The new season for Chelsea Rebelle features gorgeously structured, 2-tone shift dresses complete with peter-pan collars and piping, balanced with satin flounce skirts adorned with giant bows, cropped capes clasped with embroidered fixings, exoticly vintage black dresses and ribcage waisted electric blue jeans.

Blessures D'Amour a la The Cassette Society

Cassette Society’s mid-summer 08 collection, Blessures D’Amour, borrows from the throws of love – the richness, the romance, the injuries, the excess. ID Couture finds tell-tale French overtones epitomised from Parisienne heroines and fashionable personalities like Marie Antoinette and within some frameworks, Coco Chanel, stud the Blessures D'Amour collection. Subtle references to the eccentricities and theatrics of the harlequins also appear.

ID Couture loves the Kissing doves, ominous roses, ‘like drinking poison’ scrawls, ‘take a trip’ and ‘face’ placement prints all with surface hints of self-destruction and love - painting the 4 stories told through the Blessures D'Amour collection - Attraction, Passion, Comfort and Emptiness.
