Here at ID Couture we are always on the look out for icons of style and beacons of fashion. This feature is on the smoking Heidi Klum and the debonair Craig Daniel.

Despite her super-model frame, Heidi demonstates why she still is one of the best dressed women walking the planet. This red number by Galliano for Dior references Heidi's hourglass shape while framing her figure with structured yet flowing red cape. This halter style gown in unmistakeable Valentino inspired red showcases rather than dominates Heidi, allowing her to radiate from beneath while still working within the frameworks of the gown.

Daniel Craig, while not so bold in his fashion choices as Heidi, sums up classic male tailoring and styling. Well tailored garments in sober colours -underpinned by his empathetic yet masculine demenour- comliment this actors cool skin tones while highglighting with subltle splashes of colour to soften his look.

Shaun snapped up the 2006 "UK Luxury Jeweller of the Year" and has collaborated with the likes of Marc Jacobs and Givenchy, while his 13 year collaboration with Alexander McQueen has cemented his encentric notariety. New Utility

An air of new austerity fills the social landscape. Raising interest rates, high rent, expensive fuel hark back to an era of style when functionality became became more than desire but indeed integral. Clever design solutions like this pair of asymmetrical braces not only add a uniqueness but social address questions of consumption and utility from within the industry. This look is all about minimalism minus the sterility utilising well integrated and complimenting pieces.

La Femme Fatal

Fetishism

While some of us like the prim and prudeness of the demure frill and all that is fashion safe, one movement taking hold this season is off-beat fetishism. Think dark, muted, contrasting bohemien fabrics and finishes with minimal highlighted colour, strong lines, statement accessories and, of course, the look wouldn't be complete without furs and leathers. What a man

The new tailorism takes full control says our Melbourne stylist Sam Awadalla of the male wardrobe for the Spring 09 collection by DSQUARED2. Traditional mixed with individual youthful and colourful styling along with a bold colour sock selection makes a statement for the warmer weather to come. Some serious confidence and street cred is needed to pull some of these looks.

Tippy Toeing Around

The latest trend to hit the high notes are the ballerina heels featured.

These first made a TV cameo with the music video by Rihanna and also Beyonce and now on the streets of Japan. Personally we at ID Couture can't see them rocking on the streets of Australia, however they do look great on shoots and other extra curricular activities :) and do make your legs look super long - as for walking and comfort, previous ballerina training is advised.

Hidden Gems

Here at ID Couture we are dedicated to finding the hidden gems that sparkle, if only you knew where to hunt. The first in our series of featured designers and retailers is the effervescent Tammy Goodall of Artisans Gems and Jewels.

Custom wedding bands are one of Tammy’s biggest requests and Artisans only use ethical diamonds for all thier work. Tammy personally designs all her products from her custom pieces right through to her floor stock, each piece taking her 2 to 4 weeks to finish.

TIP: Tammy suggests that you try all pieces of jewellery on, saying that just because it looks good under the lights doesn’t mean it will look good on the client, taking skin complexion, contrast and proportion into consideration. It’s just like clothing, you have to try it on to see how it sits and how it compliments the wearer.
